Moving from Book in Beautiful? Your clients and appointments come with you
Ask Book in Beautiful for your files with the email FullDiary writes for you, then import them. Your clients arrive ready for text reminders, and every upcoming appointment lands in your diary, with services booked together kept as one visit.
Director, FullDiary

FullDiary is the booking system for UK small businesses: an online booking page, a diary, reminders and your customers in one place. Moving from Book in Beautiful means bringing two things with you: your clients, and the appointments they have already booked. Both come across.
First, ask for your files
Book in Beautiful's support team sends you your data when you ask for it. In FullDiary, open Customers, choose Import customers and pick Book in Beautiful from the list of systems. The email is there, ready to send to support@bookinbeautiful.com, asking for your client list and your upcoming appointments as CSV files, with your business name, your email and your name already filled in. Press Open in your email app, or Copy the email, and send it from the address you use for Book in Beautiful.
Your clients
When the two files arrive, choose the client list. Names, emails and mobile numbers are matched for you, and you see every column before anything is saved. Book in Beautiful's own account, which sits in the list like a client, is left out. Anyone already in your customers is matched by email: details they were missing are filled in, and nothing they already have is changed.
Then your appointments
Under your clients is the Appointments step. Choose the appointments file, then say which of your FullDiary services each Book in Beautiful service is, and who each of its employees is. A service with the same name is picked for you.
- One visit, one booking. Book in Beautiful lists each service on a line of its own. A cut, a colour and a toner booked together for one client come in as one booking of three services, timed as they were, so your client gets one reminder rather than three.
- Their prices. Each booking keeps the price in Book in Beautiful's file. A deposit paid there is written on the booking's private note, and never charged again.
- Cancelled stays out. Appointments cancelled in Book in Beautiful are left out and listed.
- Nobody is emailed. No confirmations go out, because Book in Beautiful sent those. Your clients get FullDiary's reminders from then on, so switch reminders off in Book in Beautiful.
- Safe to run twice. Each booking remembers where it came from, so running the same file again adds nothing.

If someone in the appointments file is not in your clients, or the time is already booked in your diary, that appointment is left out and named with its line in the file, so you can add it yourself.
Setting it up
Open Customers, then Import customers, choose Book in Beautiful and send the email. When your files arrive, start with the client list; if your clients are already in, choose Import appointments only. Importing clients and appointments is on every plan. On Free, upcoming appointments count towards the plan's 20 bookings a month, as bookings made in the diary do.
Questions people ask
- Why do I have to email Book in Beautiful?
- Book in Beautiful's support team sends your client list and appointments when you ask. FullDiary writes the email for you, with your details filled in.
- Do my clients get emails when I import?
- No. Nothing is sent when you import. Their reminders come from FullDiary from then on, so switch Book in Beautiful's off.
- What happens to services booked together?
- They become one booking of several services, the same as a booking made with Add another service in FullDiary, at the prices in the file.
- What if the file has a service I have not set up?
- Add it under Your shop first, then choose it in the Appointments step. Every Book in Beautiful service goes to one of yours.
